History

Exploits Welding and Machine Shop originally started in 1974 by Matt Stuckless and was initially called "Matt's Mechanical". It was a small work shop in Badger, NL of approximately 3000 ft² and 5 employees. In the early 80's the name changed to Exploits Steel Fabricators and had 10 employees. In 1996 Exploits Steel Fabricators purchased B & W Bartlett Ltd, and moved locations to Grand - Falls Windsor, this new location gave employment for 20 individuals and provided a 5000 ft² fabrication shop. In 1997 Exploits Welding Technical Institution was built and provided schooling for future welders. In 2000 the Technical Institution was closed. In the same year (1997) the current location was built with 10,000 ft² (office and shop), and much larger yard space (45,000ft²). We now have a work force of 15 in the shop, and at our peak levels we consist of 60 trades people doing a variety of jobs in the field.

Through the years we have grown exponentially and look to expand further to increase our foot print by building on to our existing building and purchasing new innovated equipment to increase our production and productivity which in turn increases our efficiency.
